At Divan Base Direct, we want to leave the world in a better state than we found it. That’s why we’re constantly looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly.
For example, we try to reuse as much of our packaging as possible.
Here are the ways that your old beds and mattresses are recycled into new products to help our environment.
Metal
Metal is an amazing material. It's strong, durable and versatile, you can use it to build bridges or make your kettle. But what happens when we don't need our metal anymore?
If you're lucky enough to live in the UK then there's a good chance that your old metals will be recycled into something new! As a country, we recycle over 70% of all our waste so that it can be made into something else instead of being thrown away forever.
Recycling is great because it reduces the number of resources needed to make new products (and saves money too). Plus recycling reduces pollution because less energy is required than if we were making everything from scratch every time someone wanted something new like say...a car for example!
Foam
Foam is a material that's made up of polyurethane and/or polystyrene. It can be used in furniture, packaging, construction materials and much more.
Foam is a renewable resource made from substances like wood pulp or soybean oil that are naturally occurring in our planet's ecosystem.
Foam has many uses for both business and domestic purposes; for example:
- It's used to fill mattresses so that they are comfortable to sleep on when you lie down on them at night (if you're not using an airbed).
- It acts as insulation between walls so that heat doesn't escape from your house during winter months (if your walls aren't insulated properly).
Mixed Textile
Mixed textiles are used as a replacement for traditional fossil fuels as a source to power your home. The mixed textile is a by-product of the recycling process, which means it can be used in the production of insulation materials and carpet underlay.
In addition to this, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by investing in renewable energy sources such as solar panels on our roofs that generate enough electricity for all of our offices worldwide!
Epic Logistics can take old mattresses and turn them into new items.
We recycle old mattresses, so you don't have to.
Our process is simple: we pick up your old mattress, clean and sanitize it (because nothing is worse than a dirty mattress), and then shred the material into small pieces to be reused and avoid it hitting the landfill.
Conclusion
We're committed to environmental sustainability and we want to do our part in protecting the planet. We know that this is a big challenge, but it's one that we take seriously. We have implemented several measures in order to reduce our impact on the environment and improve the lives of people who live near our factories.
